Expedited Site Characterization (ESC) is a crucial pre-remedial process of determining the spread of contaminates in the most cost effective and time efficient way possible. BES accomplishes this by identifying, investigating, and horizontally and vertically delineating areas of concern (AOC). This process begins with stages of site investigation. To do so, a site specific scope of work is developed, followed by the investigation of groundwater and/or soils in areas predetermined as AOCs. These decisions are aided by knowledge of the sites groundwater elevation, groundwater flow direction, and contents of any underground storage tanks (UST), aboveground storage tanks (AST), or any chemicals in direct contact with the ground. Site investigation sampling of soils and groundwater further determine if there are any impacts at the Site. This entire procedure is streamlined by the BES field scientist’s ability to most efficiently identify and delineate impacts.
